THAKERSHY CHARITABLE TRUST was registered on 2nd December 1978, with the aim of providing services in the field of health and education to poor and needy people, irrespective of caste, creed, sex, religion.
This endeavor is a passion of Mr Navnit Thakershy, who quit active business life at his prime age to serve poor and needy. The Trust is named after his father, Thakershybhai Lallubhai Shah, who was also involved with philanthropy activities.
In order to fulfil this objective, the Trust set up THAKERSHY TRUST HOSPITAL in 15th May 1983 on a 2400 sq yard plot of land. The land was donated by a Shri Jethalal Amrutlal Patel Public charitable trust on behest of the managing trustee, a well known & highly acclaimed superme court advocate, late Shre Indravadan M. Nanavati in 1980.
The hospital was later given the name SUSHRI JASUMATIBEN S. SURTI CHARITABLE GENERAL HOSPITAL in 2000, on behest of worthy donation of Smt. and Shri Harishbhai S. Surti.
